| “Who
can join?”
Everyone and anyone who cares about children! This includes moms,
dads, teachers, principals, support staff, grandmothers, grandfathers,
aunts, uncles, friends, neighbors, businesses, and members of
the community. Absolutely anyone!
“How
do I join?”
Complete a Membership Enrollment
Form and return it to your child’s teacher in an enveloped
marked “PTA Membership”, along with the $4.00 membership fee (checks
should be made payable to Keheley PTA). Your membership card will
be sent home with your child.
“Does
the $4.00 cover both parents?”
No, it covers only one adult. It is a National PTA requirement
that membership cards be issued to only one person.
“Do
I have to join each year?”
Yes, membership cards are for an annual membership and will remain
valid until July 31 of the year indicated on the card.
“Do
I have to do volunteer work?”
No, PTA appreciates everyone’s membership, whether or not you
volunteer, because each member increases PTA’s ability to advocate
for children. However, you are more than welcome to volunteer
in any area that interests you, as much as you like.
“Do
I have to purchase a membership for each of my children attending
Keheley?”
Yes, National PTA encourages that for every student enrolled that
there is one adult PTA advocate.
“Do
I have to attend meetings?”
Attending meetings is not a requirement of PTA membership. However,
we do encourage members to attend PTA meetings so they are informed
and so they can participate in the business of our association.
