PTA Board of Directors
The Board of Directors consists of the elected officers of the PTA Executive Board and a chairperson (appointed by the Executive Board) of each of the standing Committees listed below. Each chair has a vote on the PTA budget and is responsible for overseeing events and activities under their committee and providing support to those in charge of their individual programs. Although a committee can have multiple chairs, only one receives a vote on the Board of Directors.
Standing Committees
5th Grade Activities (Chair: Charity Sinegal)
Coordinates all activities for students in 5th grade, such as the talent show.
Arts & Education (Chair: Michelle Bramlett)
Promotes activities that improve the academic excellence of our students. These activities include: Science Olympiad, Steam/Career Day, Math Night, and Reflections.
Communications (Chair: Allison Javer)
Coordinates all communications that are sent out by the school and the PTA to the Keheley community. These communications include: the Weekly Newsletter, the printed Monthly Calendar, our Social Media, and our Website.
Community Outreach (Chairs: Molly Walker & Lori Armbruster)
Promotes programs within the PTA for outreach to the community or to help our families outside of the school. These programs include: the Food Drive, the Giving Tree, MLK Day of Service, and No Comet Left Behind.
MANagement (Chair: Jason Javer)
Explores opportunities for increasing male engagement in the PTA. In the past, this has included carpool duties once a month.
Diversity & Inclusion (Chairs: Kaitlin Thomas & Amy Meadows)
Promotes programs and events to celebrate the diversity in our student population and ensure everyone is included in our programs. These programs include: Cultural Heritage Night, Celebrate Our Differences Week, and Exceptional Children's Week.
Environmental Education (Chair: Jaime Hollifield)
Promotes activities to help students understand the impact we have on the environment. These activities include Garden Clean Up Days and Walk to School Days.
Family Engagement (Chairs: Micheal Garza & Kate Milberger)
Coordinates all events that focus on strengthening family-school partnerships, including fun events for families and staff to socialize together. These events include: Family Game Night, Winter Spectacular, Family Dance Night, and Parent University.
Health & Wellness (Chair: Stephanie Lawson)
Promotes programs that educate students about making better choices and choosing a healthy lifestyle These programs include: Red Ribbon Week and Field Day.
Hospitality
Coordinates activities that create a welcoming and hospitable environment for visitors and members focused on making them feel valued by the PTA. These activities include: Welcome Tent, Volunteer Night, Parades, Veteran's Breakfast, and Thanksgiving Luncheon.
Legislative Advocacy (Chair: Othniel Campbell)
Explores ways to inform the community on legislative changes that impact the educational experience and ways to advocate for our children.
Membership (Chair: Micheal Garza)
Explores ways to increase and promote membership in PTA, such as membership drives and back to school events.
Memory Book (Chair: Lisa Dawson)
Curates content and theme for the school’s yearbook and promotes the sale of the yearbook to the school community.
School Support (Chairs: Tisha Pace Oliver & Heather Chando)
Facilitates engagement of caregivers in supporting the needs of our classrooms as well as connecting caregivers to resources within the school. This includes: Room Parents, Copy Parents, and Welcome Committee.
Staff Appreciation
Plans and coordinates events and activities to recognize the staff and make them feel valued by the PTA and the community. These events include: Conference Week Snacks, Teacher Cookie Buffet, Teacher Soup Luncheon, Staff Appreciation Week, End of Year Staff Luncheon, and Staff Birthday Recognition.
