Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service

PTA's annual MLK Day of Service event is our way of honoring Dr. King's legacy through service in helping those in the community in need. Each year we plan a volunteer event at a nearby clubhouse that brings together our families to complete a service project. Lunch is provided for all who attend.

This year, we will be making 20 no-sew blankets and creating care cards for unhoused women staying at the warming center of Transfiguration Catholic Church. PTA will provide the supplies and families can come together to make the blankets and write cards to the women and volunteers helping them. We will also have lunch for everyone made courtesy of long-time volunteer Pat Detweiler.

A special thank you to North Landing Homeowners Association for providing us their clubhouse free of charge to host this event for the third year in a row.

This year's event is scheduled for January 19, 2026 from 10:00am to 1:00pm at North Landing Clubhouse located at 2165 Kemp Road, Marietta, GA 30066.
